LED retrofitting solutions for rail vehicles
What might a collaboration between a rail vehicle manufacturer and NOLDEN look like? For example: Our experienced engineers and CAD designers design the new development of a headlight – precisely tailored to the manufacturer’s needs. Of course, we work together with the manufacturer’s own or external designers.
Complete and self-contained headlights are the preferred choice for rail vehicles. But solutions based on our innovative NCC® modules also allow a great deal of design freedom and scope to set yourself apart from the competition with individual design and state-of-the-art technology. That’s why we are happy to offer complete packaging in relatively small quantities. And that includes everything that is needed for production: headlights and lights, covers and brackets, cable harnesses and light failure control systems. If desired, the whole thing can also be delivered to the customer in individual packaging units. It’s clear: For NOLDEN, every order comes from a major customer.
We bring premium quality to the rails
Some selected headlights and lights also meet the requirements of EN 50155 or 50121-3-2 with our special ballast electronics. In principle, however, all NOLDEN products comply with the applicable ECE and EMC requirements.

NCC® TLS Tram Light System
With our NCC® TLS we are able to respond to the requirements of the tram in a modular way. A large selection of 90 mm and 70 mm LED headlights and lights are available for the front and rear. Our system is rounded off by a 70 mm LED head light (Z1) and modern LED side indicators in fiber optic technology as well as LED side marker lights with the corresponding reflectors.

NCC® SBG-2 clock generator
A signal generator for flashing lights is a standard component in rail and road vehicles. The electronic flasher from NOLDEN goes one step further: failure monitoring is now also integrated for the special rail vehicle flasher. Up to three channels can be monitored individually on each side of the vehicle. The load trigger thresholds are programmable. This enables individual detection of the four flashers at the front and rear as well as collective monitoring of the side flashers. If one or more lamps fail, an external switching output is activated, which either controls a control lamp or can be used as an input signal for a PLC.

NCC® SIL LED side indicator
This ECE-approved LED side indicator has been specially developed for public transport and is therefore ideal for buses or rail-bound vehicles. Economical 5 watt power consumption, flattened corners, invisible screw holes and a special, moldable rubber base seal result in a well thought-out concept. Of course with the latest light guide technology. This side indicator can be optically combined perfectly with the NCC® SML side marker light. An ideal mounting solution for original equipment and retrofitting. Available only with an inner cover in chrome.

NCC® SML LED side marker light
Our SML LED side marker light is ECE approved. It was specially developed for public transport and is therefore perfect for use on buses or rail vehicles. With an economical 5-watt power consumption, flattened corners, invisible screw holes and a special, moldable rubber base seal and modern light guide technology, it has a lot of advantages to offer. This LED side marker light can be optically combined perfectly with the NCC® SIL side indicator light. An ideal mounting solution for original equipment and retrofitting.
