Power range from 2.5 to 50 kW
The EFOY Hydrogen Fuel Cell 2.5 complements the extensive product portfolio of SFC Energy in the higher output range and supplies climate-neutral energy reliably, efficiently and without interruption. Outputs from 2.5 to 50 kW can be scaled individually. The operation and installation is very simple and there are no emissions. The EFOY hydrogen fuel cell can therefore also be used in ecologically sensitive areas and is very quiet and efficient. The EFOY Hydrogen Fuel Cell is used, for example, to power the mobile communications infrastructure, smart traffic applications or to ensure the emergency power supply of critical infrastructures.
Emergency power supply of critical infrastructures
Critical infrastructures depend on a reliable power supply. In particular for the use of modern information and communication technology, e.g. B. at authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS), a reliable emergency power system is of particular importance. For an optimized and realistic assessment of the situation, effective, broadband communication between the scene and the situation centers is necessary. With conventional battery solutions, it is not possible to achieve long-term operational reliability over several days.
EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells are already in use at numerous locations for backup power supply. The fuel cell modules switch on fully automatically and take over the load no later than 20 seconds after a power failure. In contrast to solutions with diesel generators, there are no CO₂ emissions. Another advantage of the hydrogen fuel cell is the low maintenance effort and the low aging tendency in standby. In this way, system availability can be guaranteed over long periods of time.

For example, compared to a conventional diesel generator, a 5 kW hydrogen fuel cell power solution saves up to 45.6 tons of CO2 for an assumed annual requirement of 43,800 kilowatt hours (kWh). This corresponds to the mileage of a diesel-powered car of around 250,000 kilometers.

This is how the EFOY hydrogen fuel cell works
EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells are based on PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) technology. They produce electricity from the fuel hydrogen, supplemented with oxygen from the air. Here, hydrogen is converted directly into electricity. In addition to electricity, only water vapor is produced. This is exceptionally eco-friendly.
The EFOY hydrogen fuel cell serves as a back-up power supply solution and, as an emergency power system, ensures uninterrupted power supply for your application in the event of a power failure. The hydrogen fuel cell starts operating as soon as the battery voltage drops below a threshold and takes over the power supply for your application.
H₂Genset
Hydrogen energy supply for mobile and semi-stationary applications
The H₂Genset is a flexible and mobile hydrogen generator for areas without access to the conventional power grid, e.g. on construction sites, at outdoor events, for temporary power supply to telecommunications masts or as a mobile emergency power supply in the event of major disasters. Opcjonalny can also be configured as a mobile emergency power system – without any foundations or building permits.
With a peak output of up to 20 kW, the H₂Genset can be used in many areas of application, such as:

Control cabinet solutions for EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells
Modular overall solution
EFOY H₂Cabinets are turnkey hydrogen energy solutions with integrated EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells. The modular concept enables configuration exactly according to your requirements, for example as a stand-alone system, as an emergency power system or as an uninterruptible emergency power supply for a power range from 2.5 to 50 kW. EFOY H₂Cabinets are ideally suited to replacing conventional diesel generators and switching to emission-free hydrogen energy solutions. The EFOY H₂Cabinets are available in two versions – for indoor and outdoor applications.
Overview of EFOY H₂Cabinets
EFOY H₂Cabinet N-Serie Indoor
The H₂Cabinets of the N series are designed for indoor applications. The overall solution can be equipped with up to four EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells per control cabinet. This corresponds to an output power of 10 kW. Several control cabinets can be combined for a higher output power. The N series is connected to an external hydrogen storage facility, which is placed outside the building, for example.
EFOY H₂Cabinet X-Serie Outdoor
The X-Series H₂Cabinets are designed for outdoor applications. The overall solution can be equipped with up to two EFOY Hydrogen fuel cells. The hydrogen can be supplied via individual pressure bottles or bundles of bottles. An expansion of the control cabinet for a larger hydrogen supply is possible.
Individual hydrogen supply
Depending on the H₂Cabinet version, you have different options for connecting the hydrogen supply:
- Individual pressure cylinders or cylinder bundles have proven their worth for the X-Series in order to enable easy replacement in the field. The H₂Cabinets can be configured with an extension for a larger hydrogen supply.
- The N-Series model has a defined connection point for a hydrogen line. Depending on the requirements, large hydrogen tanks are also possible here.

Solar systems cannot guarantee a reliable power supply all year round, batteries have a very limited autonomy and generators produce harmful exhaust gases. 100% power availability thanks to the hybrid circuit of battery and fuel cell. The EFOY / EFOY Pro fuel cell continuously monitors the state of charge of the battery and charges it automatically – so your application is always reliably supplied with power. The EFOY produces electricity in any weather, at any time of the year, anywhere. The high reliability of the power supply with the EFOY fuel cell reduces costs. Downtimes are avoided.
Long service life, low maintenance
EFOY & EFOY Pro fuel cells provide off-grid power for months – without any user intervention. EFOY Pro uses the fuel methanol – an alcohol with an extremely high energy density. Ten liters contain methanol
11.1 kWh of energy. Four 28 liter fuel cartridges can operate a 50 W device independently for around 26 weeks.
Quiet and environmentally friendly
During operation, only small amounts of carbon dioxide and water are produced. Thanks to the environmentally friendly power generation process, the EFOY & EFOY Pro can also be used in nature reserves as well as in closed vehicles and rooms. The fuel cells are also suitable for use in undercover investigations due to their low-vibration and quiet operation without heat generation.
Lightweight and compact
With a weight of 6-8 kg and a size of 448 x 198 x 275 mm, the EFOY & EFOY Pro fits into any box or control cabinet and can be easily transported.
Remote Monitoring / Remote Monitoring
The EFOY & EFOY Pro fuel cell can be monitored and controlled via modem. It informs the operator about pending fuel cartridge changes, creates planning security and reduces the administration and maintenance effort.
Reduces operating costs
Batteries have a very limited autonomy. Whether in the vehicle, on the construction site or in a control cabinet, if an application is only supplied by batteries, frequent battery changes and thus the costs of keeping the application running are extremely high. With an EFOY fuel cell, deep discharge of the batteries is avoided, self-sufficiency is increased many times over, and downtimes and service intervals are minimized, thus significantly reducing costs.
